Member of Parliament for Banda, Hon Ahmed Ibrahim insist the recently launched initiative, District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government was started by the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama government.
According to him, the people of Ghana are not aware because the Communications machinery of government by then was weak.
The Member of Parliament was speaking on Accra-based Okay FM when he made this known.
He indicated that the former President launched the initiative in July 2016 but was not publicised because they had a weak information Ministry.
“The District Road Improvement Programme was started by John Dramani Mahama. He launched same in July 2016.
The Communications Ministry and the Information Ministry were together under Mahama so the publicity on this programme was low. I think if he had a sharp information machinery then, it would have been popular for the people of Ghana to know that we started it.
Mahama left the graders, caterpillars among others for Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. However the MMDCEs could not take good care of them,”he said.
