I hope to rise gradually in politics and represent my sector – MC Portfolio reveals plans

During a recent conversation with Kpekpo Maxwell Justice, famously known as KMJ, on Joy News, renowned entertainment pundit MC Portfolio shared insights into his political aspirations and reflections on the current political scene.

He opened up about his early observations of the ongoing vetting processes, revealing how he’s been closely monitoring the situation.

“I think I’ve been super impressed from the onset of the vetting process. In fact, some of us, with political ambitions in the near future, are watching closely,” MC Portfolio stated in the interview monitored by MyNewsGh.

While hinting that he had no immediate plans for presidential aspirations, he did express a strong interest in using his creative background to drive a political career, particularly as a representative for the creative sector.

“I might aim for an MP role for the industry sector,” he said. “It’s something I’ve always thought about. I wanted to start from the assemblyman level, though.

“My people, my hood, were calling for it at one point, but I felt I wasn’t prepared at that time. But I want to rise gradually through the ranks, submit myself to the process, and see where destiny takes me.”

MC Portfolio emphasized his desire to represent the creative sector and become a voice for artists and professionals in the industry.

Despite not seeking a high office just yet, he has been attentively watching the political landscape, acknowledging that there is still much to learn.

“It’s a cocktail of emotions, a blend of excitement and sadness,” he described. “Excited for the things I’ve learned about politics and its body language, but also saddened by what I saw yesterday.

“It was disheartening to witness the behaviour that contradicted what one would expect from individuals who are supposed to carry themselves with a certain dignity.”

He concluded by reflecting on the importance of leadership, noting that there’s a need to review titles such as “honourable” to ensure that those who hold such titles live up to the expectations attached to them. MC Portfolio’s reflections offer an intriguing look into his vision
