The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Integration has announced an upgrade of some Districts to Municipal and some Municipal to Metropolitan Assemblies.
The upgrade was based on a request from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development In line with relevant legal provisions as stipulated in Act 936.
The Assemblies have been duly upgraded pending finalization of all necessary legal and administrative processes.
Meanwhile, on Ho Municipality to Metropolis and Offinso North and Brim North Districts to Municipalities as well as creation of new districts are still under consideration for necessary action.
