The Parliament of Ghana has confirmed that its members in Kenya are safe.
In a viral video on social media, some Ghanaian parliamentarians who are in Kenya were seen being shielded and taken for safekeeping after protesters in Kenya attacked the country’s Senate.
A statement from Ghana’s Parliament indicated that they have been confirmed safe by Ghana’s High Commission in Kenya to be safe.
The Members in Kenya include Emmanuel Akwasi Gyamfi, Hon Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Hon Sylvester Tetteh, Hon Thomas Ampem Nyarko, Hon, Mohammed Taferu and a Senior Assistant Clerk, Anita Quartey Papafio.
The delegation according to the statement were in Kenya on a bench-marking visit when the unfortunate incident occurred.
