Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has explained that freemasonry is not antichrist like people have made it look like.
He indicates that there are staunch Christians who are members of the fraternity and are very open to talk about it.
His comments come on the back of a letter in circulation on social media from the Accra Diocese of the Catholic Church suggesting that you can’t be a Catholic and be a Freemason.
To him, he has received no such letter and therefore is legible to be a member of the Catholic Church.
He indicated that the society is not antichrist and therefore everyone is at liberty to join based on their own conviction.
“My Archbishop Palmer-Buckle has not written a letter to me. I have seen letters flying, but nobody has written any letter to me. I am a committed Catholic, and I am ready to discuss issues about fraternities that I join. I am ready to open up. If I was afraid, I wouldn’t have brought it up. Freemasonry is not antichrist,” he told Bernard Avle.
