On September 14, 2024, a Saturday, Kropf passed away. The cause of death remained undisclosed.
“The New Canaan community is mourning the sudden death of high school senior Elliott Kropf, who died last night,” Superintendent Bryan Luizzi said in a statement Sunday.
“Elliott was a strong student, an excellent athlete, a kind young man, and a wonderful friend, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him,” the statement added.
New Canaan, Connecticut native Kropf was a varsity hockey player for the Wildcats of New Canaan High School. During his junior year, the forward played a crucial role in helping the Wildcats to a 22-3 record.
Superintendent Luizzi announced that resources were being made available for kids who had experienced trauma. Condolences for the deceased flooded in.
