The Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe has observed that the inability of moral society to call out Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has caused the escalation of galamsey activities in the country.
During a discussion on TV3 NewDay, Edudzi Tamakloe noted that moral societies in Ghana lack the confidence to call out the ruling party over the mess we find ourselves in.
“The moment the president said he was putting his presidency on the line, it was supposed to be a call for action. But what we have seen is a call for inaction. As we speak, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Amenfi East is on record telling people to fight soldiers who will go and fight against galamsey”, he disclosed
According to him, the President was supposed to reprimand the Member of Parliament over his comment or dissociate himself from the comment made by the MP over the activities of galamsey.
“Akufo-Addo is that elder in the house, who sits, waits for children to mess up and comes back to say why did you do it? No leadership.” He argued
Lawyer Edudzi further disclosed that there is a video of the Member of Parliament of the Western Region also the chairman of the security council meeting up with galamsayers encouraging them and pampering them.
“Akufo-Addo is like ‘mampam’, he hears nothing, he sees nothing. See no evil, hear no evil. Now Ghana Water says we can’t produce water. This is the record of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.” He stressed
This discussion comes after Ghana Water Company Limited revealed a statement revealing that due to the galamsey activities at the River Pra, the plant has been unable to supply water to residents.
