Kofi Adoma collapsed immediately after being shot – Wife details shooting incident

A clearer account of the shooting incident involving Ghanaian journalist Stephen Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has emerged, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the shocking event.

Miracle Adoma, also known as Nana Abena Etruba, the Benkumhene of Gomoa Amanful and wife of Kofi Adoma, recounted the details during a recent interview.

Describing the tragedy, she revealed, “The entire incident was captured on camera and will be shared on social media at the appropriate time.”

Kofi Adoma had been invited to serve as the official journalist for the festival, a role he embraced with his usual dedication, arriving with his media team to document the event.

As is tradition during such festivities, musketeers performed ceremonial gunfire to mark the arrival of ‘eye red’ men—a practice symbolizing strength and valour.

However, the jubilant occasion took a tragic turn. Nana Etruba recounted the horrifying moment when one of the musketeers deviated from the ritual. “

I was shocked when one of the musketeers aimed his gun at Kofi’s shoulder and fired. The outcome was devastating,” she said, describing how the shot struck her husband in the face, causing him to collapse.

The scene descended into chaos as onlookers rushed to aid the bloodied journalist. Nana Etruba expressed her disbelief and sorrow, questioning the musketeer’s reckless decision. “Why would he fire the gun in such a way, knowing fully well what could happen?”
