The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Tuesday, September 2, 2024, open nominations for the Walewale constituency.
The nominations will be closed on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Elections according to a statement from the General Secretary, indicated that the rerun of the parliamentary primaries will take place on Sunday, September 8.

The Walewale Parliamentary rerun has been made necessary after a ruling by the Tamale High Court ordered a rerun.
Background
The Tamale High Court, presided over by Justice Richard Kogyapwah, has ordered a rerun of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries.
MyNewsGh.com’s representative at the court said Full Judgement will be read on September 12,2024.
This court case follows the current Member of Parliament (MP), Hajia Lariba Zuweratu decision to head to court to challenge the results of the NPP Walewale parliamentary primary.
Lariba Zuweiratu was narrowly defeated by Tia Kabiru, a special adviser to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, by just seven votes.
