COKA reminds Ghanaians of the power of peace in upcoming election

Former Chairman of the Afigya Kwabere South Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, also known as ‘Chairman Coka’, has called for peaceful elections as Ghana prepares for its crucial 7 December general election.

Speaking at the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Church Service on Friday (29 November) Chairman Coka underscored the importance of a peaceful electoral process, emphasizing that all political parties and their supporters must adhere to the nation’s laws and regulations.

“We’re not going to fight; we’re not going to insult each other. We’re going to exercise our right to vote,” he declared, calling on Ghanaians to rise above divisive rhetoric and engage in a peaceful election.

He also took the opportunity to remind the congregation that the election officials – from polling agents to Electoral Commission officers – are also members of the community.

“Let’s give the needed respect to the regulations of the electoral commission officers at the various polling stations. They are our relatives, friends, husbands, and wives, so let’s respect them,” COKA said.

“We must remember that Ghana belongs to all of us, and we all have a responsibility to ensure that our elections are peaceful and transparent,” he urged.

His call for unity and peaceful participation is particularly significant as the nation approaches this momentous occasion in its democratic history.
