Ghana’s U20 women’s football team, the Black Princesses, will play a crucial warm-up match against Mexico on Thursday (22 August) as they prepare for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The encounter, scheduled for 8:30PM GMT at the Club Deportivo Choquenzá in Bogotá, Colombia, will offer head coach Yussif Basigi a final opportunity to fine-tune his squad before the tournament kicks off on 31 August.
Ghana have been drawn in Group E alongside Austria, Japan and New Zealand, while Mexico are in Group A with hosts Colombia, Cameroon and Australia.
Basigi named his final squad for the World Cup on Monday (19 August), including US-based goalkeeper Jenna Kayla Sarpong and defender Alexandra Emefa Tay.
Midfielder Stella Nyamekye has recovered from injury to make the team, while Mafia Nyame will lead the attack alongside Salamatu Abdulai and Mary Amponsah.
