Akufo-Addo’s minister contracted killers of Ahmed Suale – A Plus alleges

Kwame Asare-Obeng, Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, has issued a stern ultimatum to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service regarding the progress of the investigation into the murder of journalist Ahmed Suale.

In a statement shared on social media, the MP revealed that he had been invited to the CID headquarters last year to provide information related to the case.

During that meeting, he identified a high-profile minister from the previous government as allegedly involved in contracting assailants to carry out the crime.

He also disclosed his source to the CID director, emphasizing its credibility.

However, Mr Asare-Obeng expressed concern over the lack of transparency and progress in the investigation, stating that the matter appears to have been sidelined.

He has called on the CID director to provide an update to the public within 48 hours, including justifications for any delays in the case.

Failing this, the MP plans to invoke his parliamentary authority to summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on the status of the investigation.

If this avenue also proves ineffective, Mr Asare-Obeng has vowed to take matters into his own hands by using his social media platforms to disclose what he knows, including the name of the alleged perpetrator.

Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist with Tiger Eye PI, was tragically shot and killed in January 2019.

His murder sent shockwaves through the nation, with calls for swift justice and accountability.

Mr Asare-Obeng’s ultimatum reignites the demand for answers and accountability in the unresolved case, placing pressure on the Ghana Police Service to address the public’s growing concerns.
