The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has by executive instrument declared Monday (5 August) a holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
The Interior Minister, in a statement, informed the general public that Sunday, 4th August 2024 marks Founders’ Day which is a statutory Public Holiday.
However, because 4 August 2024 falls on a Sunday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), following Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 5th August 2024 as an additional public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
