David Kwaku Effum Boafo referred to as Obibini in the music scene has said no one can list the Greatest Of All Times (GOATs) musicians in Ghana without naming any rapper in the list.
Speaking on Property FM in Cape Coast, he remarked that rap can never fade in Ghana but it must be packaged well.
He stated “Rap can never fade here in Ghana because if you like you can list the top 10 artistes in the country and you’ll comfortably see that you’ll have about five or more rappers in the list.
“And this is factual so rap is there for us so shout out to the pioneers like Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, and others who started it and we still continue to do it today,” he responded
“Recently I heard that Hiplife is 30 years old so if rap will die or fade away in Ghana I believe it would have been a long time ago and so rap can never die.
He revealed, “When you take Highlife away from Ghanaian music, I think kasahari or rap is the next so there’s still a market for Hip Hop but we just have to package it well”.
