The NDC’s Director of Elections for Ablekuma North Daniel Yaw Tornyigah has vowed to challenge in court any attempt by the Electoral Commission (EC) to overturn the earlier declaration of Ewura Abena Aubyn as the MP-elect.
In a press conference, Tornyigah emphasized that the NDC secured the Ablekuma North seat through hard work and vigilance.
He made it clear that the party would not accept any effort to undermine or reverse the decision made by over 70,000 voters in the constituency.
Tornyigah further stressed that the official declaration has made Ewura Abena Aubyn the duly elected Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, reflecting the will of the people.
He also expressed concern over the recent coalition of seven constituencies out of nine, declared for the NPP by the Electoral Commission, questioning whether the EC was favouring the NPP through questionable means.
“We urge the Electoral Commission to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness.
The people of Ablekuma North deserve nothing less. We are resolute in our commitment to protect this mandate and will lawfully resist any attempt to subvert the people’s choice.
To reiterate, we will legally reject any effort to overturn the decision made by the people of Ablekuma North,” Tornyigah emphasized.
