WATCH LIVE Day 2: Afua Asantewaa continues GWR singing marathon attempt in Kumasi

Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum started her second attempt at the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual at Heroes’ Park, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, at dawn today, 21 December 2024.

The resolute singer will perform continuously at Baba Yara till 25 December, with a sole focus on Ghanaian music.

This attempt comes after her initial attempt in December 2023, which failed to beat India’s Sunil Waghmare’s current record of 105 hours. Despite the setback, the team remains optimistic about breaking the record this time.

The support of corporate sponsors such as Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Ghana Gas, Nasco Electronics, and International Maritime Hospital highlights the significance of this endeavour in promoting Ghanaian music on a global scale.
