They’re rushing projects in Ashanti to secure last-minute votes – Mahama slams NPP

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for initiating last-minute projects in the Ashanti Region, despite neglecting the area for the past four years.

During his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, Mahama highlighted that the NPP government is currently rushing to complete projects in an attempt to secure votes ahead of the upcoming elections.

“Let’s be honest, the NPP has been very unfair to the people of Ashanti. This is their stronghold, yet they have failed to finish the projects they started.

After eight years in power, very little has been accomplished. Now, with the elections approaching, they are hastily instructing contractors to create the illusion that they have been working,” Mahama stated.

He further claimed that the ongoing projects were nothing more than a deception, asserting that most of these projects would only be completed by the NDC when they assumed power after the 2024 elections.

Mahama also noted that this pattern of deception is not limited to the Ashanti Region but extends across other parts of the country.

He referred to these efforts as “419” scheme, suggesting that they were fraudulent attempts to mislead the electorate.
