Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng believes Stephen Appiah has what it takes to run football in the country as Football Association president.Appiah, who qualified Ghana to its maiden World Cup in 2006 in Germany as the skipper is regarded as one of the best players to have ever emerged from the country.Speaking in an interview, Boateng, who played with the former Juventus midfielder at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa praised Appiah’s leadership qualities and insisted he is fit to be Ghana Football Association (GFA) capo.“A calibre like Stephen Appiah is capable of running Ghana football as Football Association president and he will do it better,” the former Fulham and Elche midfielder told Accra-based Kingdom FM. “Both former and current players have respect for him and he understands everything.“During our playing days at the Black Stars, the work rate of Stephen Appiah even during training was surprising and it pushed the entire playing body to do more.“All the time, we were training as if we were fighting but we will be joking after the training session because the training session is so tough,” he added.Following his retirement, Appiah has served as Black...

Speaking in an interview, Boateng, who played with the former Juventus midfielder at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa praised Appiah’s leadership qualities and insisted he is fit to be Ghana Football Association (GFA) capo.
