The Provost of the College of Education Studies at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The announcement was made via a Facebook post by the GES on Monday, 27 January.
Professor Davis brings extensive academic expertise and professional experience to his new role.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education from Monash University in Australia and has had an illustrious academic career.
Among his notable achievements, Professor Davis has been recognised as a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow, an honour awarded to scholars who contribute significantly to advancing education and research in Africa.
He is also an active member of the Ghana Mathematics Association, an organisation committed to promoting excellence in mathematics education nationwide.
Beyond his academic qualifications, Professor Davis has held key leadership positions in education research, further underscoring his dedication to improving the education sector in Ghana.
