Police outline security measures for final political rallies on 5 December

The Ghana Police Service has announced comprehensive security arrangements for the final political rallies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), set to take place on Thursday (5 December) in Accra.

The governing NPP will hold its rally at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate park, while the opposition NDC will host theirs at Zurack Park in Madina.

Despite the proximity of these venues along the Accra-Madina corridor and the associated risk of potential confrontations between supporters, both parties declined requests to relocate, citing political disadvantages.

To address these concerns, the Police have devised extensive security measures to ensure the rallies proceed peacefully.
