The University of Ghana campus at Legon turned into an ocean of party colours when the New Patriotic Party held its grand finale rally ahead of the much-anticipated 7 December elections.
Thousands thronged to show their loyalty and optimism in the vision for the party amid a fanfare of music, dancing and campaign chants.
Key party leaders, including President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, attended and energized the rally with their speeches. The President assured of the NPP’s determination for economic transformation, creation of jobs, and empowerment of the youth.
“This election is a choice between moving forward with progress or going back to a past of instability,” the President rallied his supporters to ensure victory for the party.
Dr. Bawumia underlined the government’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and health and promised to build on these foundations if re-elected. “Our record is clear, and our vision is bold,” he declared to thunderous applause.
The rally also witnessed performances by local musicians and cultural troupes, adding to the charged atmosphere. Supporters, most of whom had come from different parts of the country, were ecstatic and hoped for a thumping victory in the elections.
It follows weeks of intense campaigning, with the NPP determined to secure another term in office. As the country goes to the polls, all eyes will be on whether the party’s message has filtered down to the electorate.
