The Office of the Special Prosecutor has acknowledged receipt of a petition to the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over the spare parts scandal.
This comes after the Member of Parliament reported in a tweet that he has petitioned the Office to investigate the US$34.9 million Ambulance Spare Parts Scandal.
“I have duly petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor on the US$34.9 million Ambulance Spare Parts Scandal. It is unacceptable that after 24-hours since my exposé, government has been unable to speak, and at least provide a breakdown of the US$113,695.45 it claims to be spending on spare parts for each ambulance when that amount can get us a new fully-equipped modern ambulance.
May we be successful in blocking the outstanding payments and retrieving the lost funds. This latest Akufo-Addo/Bawumia/Ofori-Atta ‘create, loot and share’ scheme shall also be defeated with the power of the people! For God and Country. Ghana First,” he said.
In a letter to him, the Office of the Special Prosecutor indicated that it would look into the matter and if it falls within their remit, it would commence an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has linked two of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s daughters.
