Northern Regional Minister promises access to water

During his vetting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, Ali Adolf G. John, the Minister-Designate for the Northern Region, expressed his unwavering confidence that the Tamale water crisis would be resolved under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama.

John, who was appearing before the appointment committee, made a bold declaration, citing Mahama’s track record of delivering on his promises.

He remarked, “President John Dramani Mahama made it very public that he will resolve the Tamale water problem, and this is somebody who does things that he says.”

The water shortage in Tamale and surrounding areas has been a long-standing issue, with residents often facing water rationing and inconsistent access to safe drinking water.

The situation has caused frustration for many in the region, prompting calls for swift action from government leaders.

However, in his statement, John reassured the committee that there was hope on the horizon. “And so, I am of the firm belief that once he has won, the Tamale water problem will be solved. And once it is solved, it will be extended to other districts,” he assured.
