Gov’t supports Kantamanto Market Disaster victims with Ghc 1 million

Government Communication has announced that Traders in Kantamanto have been supported with an amount of one million Ghana cedis.

It will be remembered that some shops at Kantamanto in Accra were destroyed by a raging fire on January 2.

Several properties were destroyed as a result of the fire.

However, the leadership of the market women visited the president, who assured them of the government’s support.

In a meeting earlier today, January 23, 2025, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, made the presentation on behalf of the president.

He used the opportunity to assure them of the government’s plan to rebuild the market into a multi-purpose modern facility to enhance traders’ businesses.

On their part, the leadership of the traders used the opportunity to thank the government for the initiative/

They, however, informed the government of securing a facility with Access Bank which has decided to advance them with a loan of $100 million to rebuild the market.

They urged the government to intervene in dealing with the disputes associated to the land.
