NDC withdraws Assin Central parliamentary candidate Nurein Shiabu Migyimah

The Central regional functional executive committee (R-FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the withdrawal of Nurein Shiabu Migyimah as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Assin Central in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

This decision, made during a regional functional executive committee meeting on Tuesday (25 June), follows preliminary investigations into allegations of immoral behaviour and conduct deemed detrimental to the party by Migyimah.

In a statement, the R-FEC said: “After conducting its preliminary investigation and examining the matter minutely and exhaustively, further consulted key stakeholders in the region and the leadership of the Party at the national level resolved that Nurein Shaibu Migyimah be withdrawn as the 2024 Assin Central parliamentary candidate of the NDC with immediate effect.”

Additionally, the R-FEC has imposed a six-month suspension on Migyimah, pending further adjudication by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.

“R-FEC has suspended Nurein Shaibu Migyimah forthwith for six months and has referred the matter to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for adjudication. Also, the Party membership of Nurein Shiabu Migyimah stands suspended until the final determination of his case by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.”
