NDC activists did not assault anyone – James Agalga refutes claims

The Member of Parliament-Elect for Builsa North, James Agalga, has refuted claims that activists from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were involved in the alleged assault of Electoral Commission (EC) officials during the collation of election results.

Speaking during an interview on TV3’s Agenda, Agalga firmly stated, “It is not true that NDC activists or supporters attacked party agents of the incumbent NPP or Electoral Commission officials, as has been reported.”

He clarified reports suggesting that NDC supporters were responsible for the alleged assault of EC officials at Okaikwei North during the collation process.

Agalga urged the injured parties to lodge an official complaint with the police, emphasizing the importance of resolving the matter through proper channels to avoid the spread of unsubstantiated rumours.

“The victims should take the step of complaining to the police,” Agalga advised. “In any case, the polling stations and collation centres were protected by police and other security agencies.

Additionally, the military was deployed to ensure peace and security. Therefore, I want to state emphatically that NDC activists did not assault anyone,” he asserted.

Agalga underscored that the presence of security personnel at polling stations and collation centres makes such allegations highly improbable, further urging the public to approach the issue with caution and seek verified information.
