Dele Momodu has made it clear that his admiration for former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama is not driven by personal interests or financial gain.
Despite his success as a media mogul, Momodu emphasizes that his support for Mahama is rooted in the latter’s humility, character, and competence, rather than any contractual or pecuniary benefits.
In a post on Facebook, the renowned Nigerian journalist and businessman expressed his unwavering respect for Mahama’s leadership, noting that his support for the former president stems from deep personal conviction.
“My love for Mahama is predicated on his humility, character, and competence,” Momodu asserted. “It has nothing to do with personal gain.
“If I was looking for contracts, I wouldn’t be here in Ghana. I’d be in Abuja, where the opportunities are endless. I am here because I truly believe in what Mahama stands for.”
The acclaimed journalist took time to explain how his relationship with Ghana and its leadership has been built on more than just surface-level interactions.
Momodu’s love for the country began years ago when he sought refuge there during a tumultuous period in his life.
Recalling his first encounter with Ghana in 1995, he fondly remembered how the peaceful atmosphere and rapid development of the country won him over.
“I instantly fell in love with Ghana,” Momodu reflected. “It felt like Little Europe in Africa—a place where I could be at peace and build my future.”
Since then, he has maintained a deep connection with Ghana, working actively alongside both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Throughout the years, he has used his media platform to champion Ghana as a hub for investment and tourism, never seeking personal gain but rather focusing on the development and prosperity of the nation.
