Samuel Amo Tobbin, CEO of Tobinco Group of Companies, has hailed the Church of Pentecost for its role in raising business leaders in the country.
He believes that the teachings of the church have helped raise ethical businessmen in the country, whose contributions to the church have also seen the total development of the church in different spheres.
Samuel Amo Tobbin was speaking to Accra-based Channel One Television when he made this known.
“It is simple, and I don’t know whether other churches are doing the same. We were not like that when we came in; it is the church that has done that to us through the teachings that the church gives through tithing and offering.
Tithe and sacrificial offering. You give sacrificially. Nobody pushes you, nobody forces you. We teach you how to tithe. Give 1/10 of your profit. All the big guys you go to their account you’ll see how much they pay to the church monthly.
You support the church, means you’re building the church. The Church has a lot of liability, a lot of problems, they have to pay salaries to Pastors, they have to pay utility bills. Also in Pentecost we are into 170 countries and all the Pastors there and their families. So it is the business people by the grace of God the church has it is those people like us that support the church. So we give freely and not thinking about who.
Whether I’m giving to the Church or to somebody. You give as you’re giving to God. You don’t be like I’m giving to the church, I’m giving to this person. You’re not tying it to the Pastor. So whether the Pastor is there, the apostle is there, whoever is not there tomorrow you don’t worry. You pay to God and that is what grows our business. I came out of this because I pay my tithe to Church,” he told Benard Avle.
