Reports indicate that a man believed to be mentally sick has drowned in the Afiasu River at Akyawkrom near Ejisu.
Police situational reports indicate that he was found in the river on July 2, 2024, after an Assembly Member for the area, Hon Cosmos Dikoh Hanssen reported the incident to the Police.
The Police together with personnel of the Ghana Fire Service moved to the scene to find the man believed to be in his early 40s drowned and lying in a supine position with both hands showing up.
The body is said to have decomposed and the skin was found to be peeling off and maggots coming out of it.
The body has since been retrieved and sent to the Juaben Government Hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and autopsy.
