Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George has given the strongest indication that the NDC caucus does not intend to come back to Parliament.
He has indicated that the country has three weeks to elections and there will not be any need for the NDC Parliamentarians to come back to Parliament.
For him, even if the Speaker of Parliament recalls Parliament, there is no way they will come back to the House.
Making this position known while speaking on TV3’s Key Points, Sam George said “any attempt to recall us will be an exercise in futility. We won’t come because we have just three weeks to the elections”.
Parliament had to be adjourned sine die by the Speaker of Parliament after the NPP side of Parliament failed to attend the last sitting after they had recalled Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Ghana has ruled that the Speaker had no right in declaring some four seats in Parliament vacant; a ruling Alexander Afenyo Markin has urged the Speaker of Parliament and the NDC caucus in Parliament to respect.
