Kotoko IMC chair Nana Apinkra confident Nigerian midfielder Fernando Bassey will succeed at the club
The chair for the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua has stated that the club is elated with the signing of Nigerian youngster Fernando Wisdom Bassey.The Ghanaian giants secured the acquisition of the talented youngster on Wednesday, August 28.Speaking after the unveiling of the Nigerian midfielder, Kotoko IMC chair Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua said the club is confident Fernando Bassey will succeed at the club."We are very excited to welcome Fernando to the club. The negotiations proceeded smoothly, and he joins us as an exciting prospect. We are confident that with him, we can achieve our objectives for the season," Nana Apinkra said as quoted on the website of Asante Kotoko.In its statement confirming the signing of Fernando Bassey, Asante Kotoko said the midfielder has signed a three-year contract.He has selected the Number 7 jersey at the club.“Asante Kotoko is pleased to announce the signing of Fernando Wisdom Bassey on a free transfer. The 22-year-old versatile midfielder has committed to a three-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2027,” the Kumasi-based club announced.
