Japanese Ghanaian goalkeeper Zion Suzuki joins Parma Calcio

Parma, a newly promoted Serie A club has officially secured Zion Suzuki from Sint-Truiden as their next starting goalkeeper.The 21-year-old Japanese shotstopper, who has Ghanaian heritage, was previously linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but the deal fell through.Before going professional in 2020, Zion Suzuki had been trained in the Urawa Red Diamonds youth system in Japan.He participated in all of Japan's youth national teams throughout this time, and by 2022, at the age of just 19, he was a regular starter for the senior squad.Zion Suzuki played in 32 games in the Jupiler Pro League last season, displaying his athleticism, moral integrity, and technical prowess, all of which have helped to establish him as a prominent player worldwide.Parma reportedly paid an amount of 7 million euros, with additional bonuses included. Zion Suzuki's contract with Parma runs until 30 June 2029.Zion Suzuki also attracted interest from Genoa, who were in search of a replacement for Josep Martinez.
