Is Sammi Awuku exiting NLA after exactly 3 years as Director-General?

Last weekend news in the media suggested that the Director-General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Akuapem North Constituency, Samuel Awuku, had indicated that he would soon resign from the NLA as its head to focus on his political career; his quest to represent the people of Akuapem North in Parliament and other campaigning for the NPP in general.

Reports indicated that he disclosed while speaking at a media encounter in Abokobi in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region where Mr Awuku expressed gratitude to staff and management of the NLA for supporting him as Director General to bring about marked improvements to the authority.

MyNewsGh.com has, however, gathered that. Mr. Awuku only indicated that it was his last Editors Forum before a change in government since the election event is held annually.

Mr Awuku is widely expected to win the Akuapem North parliamentary election with a wide margin given his popularity, charisma, and effective political strategy.

Sammi Awuku is also a key member of the campaign team of the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. As the general elections draw near, he is expected to do more to enable Dr Bawumia to emerge victorious.
