I won’t be surprised if some Organized Labour leaders were bribed – Mr. Abraham Koomson

Mr. Abraham Koomson, the General Secretary of the Ghana Federation of Labour, has asserted that he would not be surprised if some of the leaders of Organized Labour were compromised to suspend the planned strike.

While speaking on TV3’s Ghana Tonight, Mr Abraham Koomson said that although he has not seen any of the leaders of TUC taking any form of monetary favour to suspend the strike, he will not be surprised if anything of that sort happened.

“If you are not organized yourself, the government will infiltrate and do their funny things like it happened. And I won’t be surprised if it happened although I haven’t seen any money yet.” 

“But I know some people have low morals and they don’t care. Even if the money is coming from Kwaku Fri’s camp, they will still take it. Although I can’t point at anyone for now, I suspect. It could be true. Unfortunately, we have gotten to this stage without any result”. He bemoaned

He further recounted how some groups like “Galamstop and task forces formed that were meant to help curtail the galamsey activities but all failed, lamenting how he has lost hope in the government to fight the galamsey menace because they have failed in the past to fight the menace.

Speaking about the declaration of a state of emergency, he said that it would have brought the chiefs, leaders from these local communities where the illegal activities happening together to fight the activity.
