Guinness Ghana DJ Awards 2024: Asaase Radio’s King Lagazee nominated for Best Reggae DJ of the Year award

King Lagazee, the award-winning radio personality and host of Yaad Settingz on Asaase 99.5 Accra, has been nominated for the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards 2024 in the category of Best Reggae/Dancehall DJ of the Year.

This year’s nominees reflect abundant creative expression and DJ excellence across the entertainment industry. Powered by Smirnoff, Guinness Ghana DJ Awards 2024.

Speaking to Asaase Showbiz, King Lagazee said he was happy to be nominated again.

“It’s a good thing to be recognised at home for your good work. Looking at what we doing for reggae dancehall and sound system culture in Ghana on Asaase Radio, I think the ministry of tourism should crown us as one of the ambassadors of the genre in Ghana.”

As the first Ghanaian and the second African sound system to win a clash in Jamaica, King Lagazee of Lagazee Sound International made history on Thursday, 8 February 2024, at Original Dancehall Thursdays when he represented Ghana against Super Gold Sound from the USA and PlaiMaker Sound from the UK.

The host of Asaase Yaad Settingz has been in the reggae dancehall and sound system culture space for over two decades and still counting.

Ghana DJ Awards 2024 nominations were selected by the Ghana DJ Awards Voting Academy, comprised of an esteemed group of entertainment professionals and influencers in music, media, digital marketing, journalism, public relations, and creative arts.

Africa’s Biggest DJ Night will celebrate 12 years of exceptional DJ entertainment throughout the event, scheduled to hold at the Palms Convention Centre.
