Ghana Medical Association (GMA) may call off its strike action today after they meet with Organized Labour.
This was made known by Dr. Frank Serebour, the association’s president.
He made this known in an interview with Accra-based Pure FM on Monday, July 15, 2024.
“I am hopeful that at the end of the day, we will begin our operations fully. We will be meeting with organized labour and after that, we will communicate to you,” he said.
The Ghana Medical Association joined Organized Labour’s nationwide strike to force the government to rescind its decision to sell hotels belonging to SSNIT to Rock City Hotel owned by the county’s Agric Minister.
The decision to sell has been rescinded, with Rock City pulling out of the deal. However, Organized Labour’s strike continues to hold across the country.
They are demanding a dissolution of the SSNIT and NPRA board and also the sacking of the Management of SSNIT and the NPRA.
They are also demanding the immediate sack of the Employment and Agric Ministers who were involved in the decision to sell a state asset to a private individual.
