Portuguese Primeira Liga side Estrela da Amadora have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian centre-back Semeu Commey from third-tier club CD Trofense.The 20-year-old defender has penned a three-year contract, which will keep him at Estadio Jose Gomes until 2028.The club confirmed the deal on their official website, stating, "Semeu Commey is the latest star signing and signs until 2028."Commey, who developed through the youth ranks of Boavista FC, had been a key player for Trofense since joining them in the 2023-24 season. In the ongoing 2024-25 Liga 3 campaign, he featured in 18 matches, scoring one goal and assisting once, proving to be a crucial asset in the team's defence.Having gained valuable experience in Portugalâs lower divisions, Commey now steps up to the elite level with Estrela da Amadora, aiming to make an impact in the top flight.Despite his rise in club football, Commey is yet to be capped by the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.However, with his move to a higher division, he will be hoping to catch the attention of national selectors in the near future.
