Ghana Premier League players should be in the Black Stars squad – Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu
Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes Ghana Premier League players deserve a shot with the Black Stars and should be given the opportunity to prove themselves.In the September international call-ups, Otto Addo included only one Ghana Premier League player in the squad for the Angola and Niger 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.That player is Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare, but he was not featured in any of those games.Speaking on the situation, Agyemang-Badu said, “We will beg the coach to look into our league too and then invite some players,” he told Asempa FM, as monitored by footballghana.com.“I am an advocate for local please if you take some of them along for matches and they fail to impress then I will not advocate for their inclusion again in the squad.“I am a product of the Ghana Premier. There are players in the Premier League who know the African terrain.“Are they saying that there is no one player among the more than 6000 players in the Ghana Premier League who can compete for a place in the Black Stars?”
