John Dumelo who was part of the 3-day protest spoke to Joy News questioning the President on the legacy he wanted to leave behind.
“Akufo-Addo is giving the ‘I don’t care vibes, yen tie obiaa vibes’ but I don’t think that’s the kind of uncouth legacy he wants to leave which is the galamsey menace”. He stated
He further debunked claims that the opposition, NDC is taking advantage of the galamsey menace to win favour from the masses
He emphasized that the protest by Ghanaians is to put the government on its toes to do the right thing while explaining how water bodies have been polluted and forest reserves have been destroyed.
The actor expressed disappointment at the Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor over his silence over the degradation of the forest reserves and water bodies.
“I don’t want to make comparisons, but during the NDC era, the water wasn’t this polluted”, Dumelo said while reminding the President to fulfil his promise to the citizens after claiming he would put his Presidency on the line to solve galamsey menace.
