From Pokuase to Tamale: Akufo-Addo unveils new interchanges, promises More

The inauguration of the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange was not just a celebration of infrastructure; it was a moment for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to remind Ghanaians of the strides his administration has made in transforming the country’s landscape.

Addressing a large crowd at the event, Akufo-Addo passionately detailed his government’s achievements in infrastructure, positioning them as a testament to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) commitment to national development.

“In just a few years, we have delivered six interchanges, each one designed to make life easier for Ghanaians,” he began, his voice rising with conviction. “The Pokuase Interchange, the largest in West Africa, has not only eased traffic but has become a symbol of what visionary leadership can achieve.”

The crowd, many wearing NPP paraphernalia, erupted in cheers as the president transitioned to talk about the Tamale Interchange.

“For the first time, Northern Ghana has its own interchange. It’s a game-changer, bringing connectivity and growth opportunities to a region that has long needed such investments,” he said, emphasizing the significance of development beyond the southern regions.

With an eye on the future, Akufo-Addo announced the ongoing construction of thirteen more interchanges across the country, several of which are nearing completion.

He described these projects as part of a broader vision to create a Ghana where movement is seamless and economic opportunities are abundant. “This is not just about roads and bridges; it’s about building a nation that works for everyone,” he remarked.
