Franklin Cudjoe condemns assault on CSU Student by John Mahama’s guards

President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has condemned the assault on student of the Christian Service University by persons believed to be bodyguards of former President Mahama.

According to him, such political violence should not be encouraged and tolerated in the Ghanaian democratic space.

He has therefore called on the former President to expose the perpetrators so they are made to face the law as a deterrent to others.

His post shared via social media read “Mahama to University students at a forum in Kumasi: “This government is full of arrogance, theft and lacks empathy.”

TESCON/ NPP student leader while Mahama was speaking:” You are a liar. You will lose the 2024 elections.”

After event: Student leader says ” l was given two hefty slaps amidst terrible blows delivered all over my body. I’m in so much pains, l walk side ways now.”

Me: Please political violence of all kind must not be tolerated. The perpetrators of this heinous beating must be found, punished. To all persons intending to shout their opposition at such events, please just mutter the words slowly to self. If you intend doing otherwise please be safe.”

Meanwhile, the Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the former President to apologize or they will advise themselves when attending programmes he is present.

To the NPP Youth, the former President’s desperation for power cannot endanger the lives of young people whose parents expect to be safe in school.
