Eric Alagidede calls for prayers for Samartex and Nsoatreman FC ahead of maiden Africa campaign

Nsoatreman FC General Manager Eric Alagidede is urging Ghanaians to pray behind his outfit and Samartex 1996 ahead of their maiden Africa campaign.

Both teams are set for their first appearance in Africa after emerging as champions in domestic major competitions last season.

Samartex defied all odds to clinch the Ghana Premier League title for the time in their history, dethroning Medeama whiles Nsoatreman FC defeated regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano to lift the FA Cup title for the first time.

The Timber giants are representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League whiles Nsoatreman FC battles it out in the Confederation Cup.

Samartex have been paired against Cameroonian outfit Victoria United whiles Nsoatreman FC takes on Chadian club Elect Sports in the first stage of the preliminary round.

Speaking to Kessben FM, as followed by Footballghana.com, the enterprising football administrator called on Ghanaians to pray behind both teams as they embark on their maiden Africa journey this month.

“Nobody goes to the battle field with the expectation of losing. As a General Manager, I must believe in my team and maintain great optimism and belief. I can only sound confident and have assurance in my team that we can do it.

“Ghanaians should pray for both Samartex and Nsoatreman FC. If both teams are able to performance our (Ghana) points build up will increase and could help us win back our two lost slots in Africa. It will only tell us that our football is on ascendency if we are able to go far in Africa” he said.

Both teams are preparing massively for the upcoming campaign. Samartex emerged as champions in the Nsenkyire Cup which was recently held in Sameraboi whiles Nsoatreman placed second in the tournament.
