CLOGSAG strike called off after fruitful meeting with gov’t

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike about salary structure.

Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) have been on strike for a week to register home their displeasure about their salary structure.

Their strike has affected productivity in various sectors of the economy this past week.

But a statement from the Association indicated that they have had fruitful discussions with government representatives on July 12, 2024 and has therefore called off their strike.

“The Government of Ghana represented by the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR) and Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on one hand, and the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) on the other hand met on 12th July, 7024.

The statement added that “The parties showed commitment towards the resolution of pertinent issues relating to the salary structure for the Staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service”.
