The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced the payment of over GHc1.5 million to cover the free dialysis programme.
In a statement released by the NHIA, it stated that the GHc1.5 million covers the expenses for the dialysis services which were provided at about six health facilities in July and August and also an advance payment for September.
The six health facilities include the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The statement further said: “With this latest disbursement, the total amount allocated to the free dialysis programme since its conception in June now stands at GHc1,588,565.00”.
