A 30-year-old man, Alhassan Abdulai, known locally as “Lasco,” has been arrested by the West Mamprusi Police Command for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl. The incident is said to have occurred at a chop bar in the town.
According to the victim, Lasco, a regular customer at the chop bar, would often sit in a secluded corner and request her services.
She alleged that on one such occasion, he lured her with a GHC10 bribe, warning her to keep the incident a secret.
The alleged defilement took place over a week ago, with Lasco being apprehended by the police on Monday (21 October) in Walewale.
Alhassan Abdulai, a carpenter by trade, hails from Langbinsi in the East Mamprusi Municipality but has been residing in Walewale to pursue his career.
He is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court on Thursday (24 October), to face the charges against him.
