Bawumia in Mecca to thank Allah and pray for Ghana

Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in Mecca with his wife and some friends to thank Allah for his grace.
A post on social media announcing the pilgrimage said he also used the opportunity to pray for the country, seeking guidance and protection.
His post announcing the pilgrimage read, “Together with Hajia Samira Bawumia and some friends, I arrived in Mecca yesterday to perform Umrah (Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca). This is to thank the Almighty Allah for His grace. We also prayed for guidance and protection for us and for our nation, Ghana”.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia contested in the 2024 elections but was defeated by John Dramani Mahama.
The former Vice President of Ghana conceded defeat ahead of the official announcement by the electoral commission, an action that has received massive commendation from the international community.
The former vice president is yet to speak about his future as his political party is now in opposition.
