t a recent event in Nsawam-Adoagyiri, the incumbent Member of Parliament(MP) Frank Annoh-Dompreh rallied supporters by challenging the capabilities of opposition leader John Dramani Mahama, claiming he has “nothing new to offer Ghanaians.” Annoh-Dompreh criticized Mahama’s campaign, dismissing it as “flimsy” and unable to win the hearts of the Ghanaian people.
“No amount of propaganda will bring Mahama back to power,” Annoh-Dompreh told the energized crowd, suggesting that Mahama’s focus remains on outdated practices rather than on innovation. He further argued, “While Bawumia is introducing digitalization to move Ghana forward technologically, Mahama’s focus is on producing guinea fowls and poultry. This is not the vision Ghana needs.”
He emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is making inroads into the Volta Region, traditionally considered a stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying, “The Volta Region is no longer untouchable for the NDC. Change is coming, and they know it.”
These comments were part of Annoh-Dompreh’s speech at the inauguration of a new NPP office in his constituency, following a Victory Walk meant to build momentum for the upcoming elections. Addressing his supporters, Annoh-Dompreh conveyed the party’s determination to uphold its values in Parliament, despite the stance of Speaker Alban Bagbin, whom he criticized in an earlier speech.
“The NPP respects Bagbin’s position as Speaker, but let it be clear—we won’t be intimidated by his conduct or by the NDC,” he declared, asserting the party’s commitment to stand firm against what he considers biased actions.
Expressing his gratitude for the support from his constituents, Annoh-Dompreh thanked the crowd for their dedication, saying, “Your overwhelming support fuels me to do more for Nsawam and for Ghana. Together, we’re making progress that matters.”
In a display of his commitment to the community, Annoh-Dompreh announced his intention to construct a symbolic church, inspired by a biblical reference. “Just as God told David not to build the temple but allowed Solomon to complete it, I believe I am here to carry forward what others began,” he shared, vowing to enhance the development efforts of past MPs.
Annoh-Dompreh also underscored the NPP’s achievements in education, particularly the Free SHS initiative, describing it as a transformative force in the country. “Free SHS is a legacy—an investment in our future that lifts the financial burden off countless families. This is what real leadership looks like,” he stated, highlighting the policy’s impact on Ghanaian families and its alignment with the party’s vision for progress.
