Ashanti Region wants real policies, not tribal loyalty – Matilda Asare

Matilda Asare has passionately endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the right choice for the people, emphasizing his track record and vision as the reasons he resonates with the electorate, particularly in the Ashanti Region.

“Bawumia’s track record and vision make him the preferred candidate in the Ashanti Region and beyond,” the Kumawood actress stated.

She argued that Bawumia’s support will only continue to grow, especially in areas like the Ashanti Region, which traditionally aligns with the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Building on her endorsement, Matilda turned her attention to Alan John Kyerematen’s new Movement for Change party.

She claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is financially backing Kyerematen’s campaign to draw support away from the NPP. “It’s clear that the NDC is pulling strings in the background.

They’re providing funds and support to Alan Kyerematen’s campaign, hoping it’ll undermine the NPP’s influence,” she argued, pointing to the crowd gathered for Kyerematen’s recent public walk in the Ashanti Region. Matilda suggested that Kyerematen’s efforts are part of a larger strategy by the NDC to weaken the NPP stronghold as the December 7 election approaches.

While acknowledging Kyerematen’s long-standing ties to the Akan people, she strongly believes his appeal to tribal sentiments won’t succeed with today’s electorate. “This is not the Ghana of the past.

The voters in the Ashanti Region have moved past these divisions. They want real policies, not appeals to tribal loyalty,” she emphasized.

Despite Kyerematen’s efforts, Matilda asserted that his movement was unlikely to achieve any significant impact in the elections. “He may be drawing crowds now, but it’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who resonates with the people,” she reiterated.
