Leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah, is of the view that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo fooled the people of Ghana with his command over the English language.
According to him, for a president to steal from speeches by some American presidents should have been the first sign to the people of Ghana that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cannot be trusted.
To him, it is even a worry that when the plagiarized speech was detected, the president failed to apologise to the good people of Ghana.
“He played a very nice con artist game on Ghanaians because he speaks well because he was trained in England, so nice English language and nice rhetoric.
The first sign was when he plagiarized big words and and stole the language of former Presidents of the United States at his inauguration.
That was the first sign that he was somebody coming to steal things, and he has never never apologized for that. Using other people’s work in an examination anywhere you’ll fail,” he said on Channel One TV in an interview.
What’s even worrying according to him, was the sloganeering during the 2016 campaign that got Ghanaians into buying into his vision which turned out to be lies.
