Ablakwa presents Tenancy Agreement To Appointments Committee

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has directed the estate managers of his house at the Airport Residential Area to furnish the Appointments Committee with his tenancy agreement.

According to him, it is a move to bury the lies being propagated by the Minority in Parliament about the property he occupies.

The North Tongu Member of Parliament insists that he rents the apartment, which is on one plot of land.

Ablakwa indicated that during his vetting, he wanted to make the document available, but the chairman insisted that the country had an asset declaration law, so he should rather declare his assets with the auditor general.

He explains that contrary to claims that he has bought the house and kept it in the name of his sister, his landlord is a Jordanian who he has no links to.

“The chairman said that would not be necessary, and the proceedings were live. Despite this, because of the vicious attacks on those of us who want to stop the bleeding I had to write to the estate manager that I want to settle the matter so I wrote to Finale Limited, who are the estate managers, and told them that even though the chairman said this will not be necessary, I want to do full disclosure of my status there.

Am I renting? What’s the tenancy agreement? They have even said that at Airport Hills you cannot rent. I can confirm to you that Finali has responded and I have forwarded the same to the Appointments Committee, and I have asked that the response be made public,” he said.

“The propaganda that I own it has been exposed; the propaganda that it belongs to my sister has been exposed. The records show that it belongs to Hosni, who is a Jordanian. The records also show that it is just a small plot. The records also show that airport residential allows for renting,” he said on Accra-based TV3.
